This home on E. 3rd St. in Nelson was purchased by SCPPD and torn down this past winter. It is unknown at this time what the plans are for the lot.

The City of Nelson held its regularly scheduled council meeting on Monday. It was a typical meeting. The role was called. The minutes of the last meeting approved. Tom Murray and John Price have retired from the cemetery board. Sandra Schendt has agreed to act as secretary. Laurie Pahl was approved by the board to serve on the rescue squad as an EMT.

This house located on South Wheeler and W. 4th St. in Nelson was deemed a nuisance by the City. Several critters had taken refuge in the home as it sat vacant. It was purchased on tax auction by Virgil Schultz, and is currently being torn down.

Park board members were present to discuss the possibility of using the old T-Ball field as a dog park. The old T-Ball field is located on the south side of town, to the west of Highway 14, on the north side of Elk Creek. A chain link fence will be extended on both sides and on the outside edge of the outfield. This would allow the field to still be used for T-Ball but would provide a fenced in area for dogs to run and play safely.

The auditorium was approved to be rented by the Nelson Alumni Association for the day of May 29. Library board minutes and the Arbor Day proclamation of the tree board were approved.

The next regular meeting of the council will be held at 7p.m., May 10.
