Communitygarage sales return after COVID block

April 15, 2021

After being cancelled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 lockdown, community-wide garage sales are returning to the calendar this year.

This newspaper plans to again sponsor two such events in Superior this year. The first is just more than a week away.

Though advertised for Saturday, April 24, many locations will open sometime Friday.

The next issue of this newspaper will give the sale locations, a description of what will be found at location in addition to having a map of the community to assist those not acquainted with the community in finding the sale locations.

Each registerd location will be marked with a yellow sign.

Shoppers are asked to only shop at registered locations and to not patronize the freeloaders who avoid paying the registration fee but try to capitalize on the shoppers brought to town by those who advertise their sales.

The second community-wide garage sale will be held on the second Saturday of August which this year falls on Aug. 14.

Those planning to register for this year’s sale are encouraged to do so by Friday as we need time process and organized the advertisements. The Express continues to be published though it is not fully staffed.

Also on April 24, the Jewell Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a community-wide garage sale. Advertisements for that event will also be featured in the next issue of this newspaper. Tuesday morning a Jewell resident stopped at our office and got the signs they will use to mark the registered sale locations.
