Raider Golf team compete in Red Cloud April 13 and 15

On April 13, the L-N golf team traveled to Red Cloud for a triangular match with Red Cloud and Blue Hill. The nine-hole event was won by Red Cloud who carded a team score of 202. L-N and Blue Hill came in with identical scores of 213.

Blue Hill’s Mclayne Seeman recorded the afternoon’s lowest score with a 43. However, L-N’s Krayton Kucera and Conner Janda each had 49s.

Varsity scores for L-N were: Krayton Kucera 49, Conner Janda 49, Clay Williams 51, Wyatt Brockman 64, Blake Wroughton 70.

Each school also had two or three J V players compete as well. For L-N, Wyatt Hajny turned in a score of 44, Toby Kotinek had a 60 and Nathan Elledge an 81.

On April 15, the Raiders returned to Red Cloud for a much larger competition as they took part in the annual Bob Bohrer Invitational Golf Meet. A total of 58 golfers from 13 schools took part in this event.

Doniphan-Trumbull won the Match with a score of 342. Franklin was second with 347. The Raiders finished seventh with a team total of 415 strokes.

Out of the 58 golfers, Conner Janda finished 18th with an 18 hole total of 96. Wyatt Brockman finished 22nd with a 99; Krayton Kucera carded an even 100; Blake Wroughton had 120 and Clay Williams a 124.

The JV also played on this day and for L-N Toby Kotinek and Wyatt Hajny competed. Toby scored a 101 and was the third medalist for the JV competitors. Wyatt Hajny had a 109.

The golf tempo picks up with L-N taking part in the Sandy Creek Invitational this week Tuesday. They go to Red Cloud again on April 27 for the Blue Hill Invitational and to the Southern Hill golf course on April 29 for the St. Cecilia Invitational.
