Roy Mitchell Vap, 69, the son of Theresa (Bursovsky) and Melvin Vap, was born July 27, 1951, at Hastings, Neb. He died April 21, at CHI St. Elizabeth Regional Health Center in Lincoln, Neb.

A lifelong resident of the area, Roy grew up in Clay County and graduated from Sandy Creek High School with the Class of 1969. He continued his formal education at Kearney State Teachers College where he earned his bachelor of science degree in microbiology with a minor in business. Roy was united in marriage with Cheryl Mays on Oct. 2, 1971, at Kearney, Neb.
