RHHS track at Osborne Relays

The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams visited Osborne Friday for the Kaser Relays. The boys team finished in seventh place in the 18 team field with 28 points. The girls were in 11th place with 16 points. There were 18 teams in the field: St. John’s, Plainville, Osborne, Tescott, Lakeside, Logan, Stockton, Lincoln, Thunder Ridge, Palco, Sylvan United, Tipton, Northern Valley, Wakefield and Southern Cloud. The first six places earn team points.

Seth Pennell finished in fifth place for the boys team in the 100 meter dash with his time of 11.43 seconds. Wyatt Evert also took part in the event.

Pennell took fourth place in the 200 meter dash with his time of 23.77 seconds.

Kit Wagner and Davin Coil competed in the 800 and 1600 meter runs but finished out of the points. The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Tristyn Brown, Jerrod Gillett, Pennell and Evert were in fourth place with their time of 46.43 seconds.


Gillett participated in the high jump.

Grant Meyers earned first place points with his 13’ jump in the pole vault.

Gillett, Pennell and Wagner finished out of the points in the long jump.

Coil competed in the triple jump.

Buck Leudke and Evert took part in the shot put. Caden Slate and Leudke entered the discus throw.

Grace Ayers was the sixth place finisher in the 100 meter dash for the girls team with her time of 13.99 seconds. Also competing in the dash were Avery Brown and Austyn Groote.

Ayers picked up a sixth place finish in the 200 meter dash with the time of 29.4 seconds. Paige Zadina and Groote finished out of the points.


Kansas Public Notices

Zadina was in the 400 meter dash. Hannah Simmelink and Raylynn Anderes took part in the 800 meter run but finished without points.

Alyssa Davis ran the 100 meter hurdles.

Lauren Whelchel took third place in the high jump when she cleared 4’8”.

Whelchel was second in the pole vault when she cleared the bar at 7’6”.

Ayers, Brown and Simmelink did not earn points in the long jump.

Brown and Davis competed in the shot put.

Davis and Groote took part in the discus throw.

The Grizzlies compete at the Beloit relays, Friday, with a 10 a.m. start time. The team travels to Tescott, Tuesday, for the Tescott Invitational.
