Board pondering salary raises for county employees

The Nuckolls County Board of Commissioners met for their regularly scheduled meeting, Monday, at the county courthouse in Nelson. All three commissioners were present.
The board worked through a light agenda. Jim Bolte, road department foreman, reported they had picked up a limited amount of gravel. He noted that all the county road maintainers were at work.
The board held a preliminary discussion about pay raises for the rank and file county employees. The board approved the advertising for sale a strip of county land in Lawrence which they declared as surplus.
The electronic items disposal will be at the county road department, Nelson, Thursday, May 20, 1 to 5 p.m.
The board will meet Monday May 17 at 8:30 a.m. for their next scheduled meeting. The main item of discussion will be employee pay raises.
