Delvin Moeller

Delvin Dean Moeller, 86, the son of William and Leona (Rogge) Moeller, was born on Sept. 1, 1934 in Republic County, Kansas. He died April 27, 2021.

Delvin was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church rural Byron. He rarely missed church and prayed for everyone in their joy and sorrow.

He attended Prairie Dell School until the sixth grade. He didn't like school. He started skipping school and hiding under a bridge. After being discovered, he quit school and became a farmer and stockman with his dad.

Delvin lived with his parents. He helped to care for his dad after he suffered a stroke and continued to live with his mom until her death.

He became ill with a rare kidney disease and moved to Kingswood Court in 2018. He enjoyed being there. The staff, other residents and activities made him happy. He also liked being taken care of.

The pandemic was hard on him, as it was all of us. He missed being able to take his drives, go shopping or going to Byron to see what was going on. He also missed the visits from his great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Dennis.
