SHS golf plays at Blue Hill Invite

The Superior High School golf team played the Blue Hill Invitational Cyndi Pell Scramble at the Red Cloud Golf Course lastTuesday. Superior finished in fifth place in the six team field. Other teams competing were Blue Hill, Lawrence-Nelson, Deshler, Red Cloud, Silver Lake and Bruning-Davenport-Shickley. The Wildcats finished with a team score of 276.

The match was played in the scramble format. Unlike matches where individual scores are tallied, the scramble format is a two-person team event. Each player hits a tee shot. The two team members decide which shot they like better. They then play from that spot. The ball from the shot not chosen is picked up and moved to within one club length of the selected spot.

The score of the two-person team is used for compiling the aggregate team score.

Conner Blackstone and Emma Henderson finished with an 18-hole score of 87. Haley Blackstone and Neah McMeen turned in a round of 92. Bayln Bargen and Carsyn Koening closed out with a round of 97.
