Traveling from Savannah to San Francisco On Bike

On Wednesday, May 12, traveling west on Highway 36, you may have noticed a bike rider with his bike loaded with survival gear. This was 48-year old Patrick Holland-Moritz.
Originally from Germany, Holland-Moritz began his "bike across America" trip from Savannah, Ga., at the end of March. His goal is to be in San Francisco, Calif., by the end of July. When he arrives in San Francisco, Holland-Moritz will stay with friends before traveling back home by plane.
Riding 50 to 60 miles a day, Holland-Moritz mostly camps in city parks overnight. He said he has had this venture in mind for many years....
