Nelson resident faces 7 felony counts

 


An investigation by the state attorney general’s office has resulted in seven felony charges, two Class 11 First degree sexual assault charges and five Class 111A felonies of child abuse, being placed against a Nelson area resident. He was arrested last Thursday. His bond was set at $25,000 or 10 percent cash. He bonded out of jail.

The alleged incidents date from 2012 to 2018.

The Class II felonies carry a minimum sentence of one to 50 years. The Class IIIA penalties range from no imprisonment to a maximum of five years, or $10,000 fine, or both. Ben Murray was appointed as his attorney

The presumption of innocence prevails in all cases.
