The Lawrence pool is open for the season. The first day was June 4. The manager, Peggy Kotinek, said the water was up to 82º as last Wednesday. The facility plans to offer water aerobics Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and continue the night swims the area youth have come to enjoy.

This year Peggy has plenty of help with three assistant managers and six lifeguards. The staff members are excited for the year and ready to get started teaching swimming lessons. Over the weekend, they held their first night swim of the season with more than 50 patrons in attendance.

Russ Menke installed underwater lights this spring. They look nice at night.

Russ Menke repairs the basketball hoop at the Lawrence pool before the opening of the facility. Menke also installed new under water lights in the pool.
