Richard Alan Zeleny, 74, of Deshler, the son of Anton and Verna (Meyer) Zeleny was born Nov. 30, 1946, in Odell, Neb. He died Monday, June 14, at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron.

Rich grew up and attended school in Diller, before the family moved to Edgar. He graduated from Edgar High School in 1965.

Rich entered the United States Marine Corp. May 20, 1965, and was honorably discharged April 26, 1966.

After returning home he attended Hastings College, South East Junior College in Fairbury, and continued his education attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
