After closing in December and being sold at public auction, a popular Superior ice cream and sandwich shop with a history stretching over all or part of 7 decades, is scheduled to reopen today.

Motorists passing the Burger Barn at Fourth and Bloom, who have been keeping watch looking for a hint of when it may reopen, were pleased this week to see the message board announced a July 1 opening. According to the sign, plans are to remain open until 10 p.m. for those who need a late evening ice cream fix.
