Jerry Horst of Edgar, was born March 26, 1959, to John and Janice (Kinnison) Horst in Hastings, Neb. He died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Neb.

Jerry attended Edgar Elementary School and Sandy Creek High School,

graduating in 1977. He went on to study agriculture at University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating in 1981.

Jerry taught vocational agriculture at Wolbach Public School. It was during that time, he met and married Shirley Ogden. They had one son, John David Horst. The couple moved back to Jerry’s hometown of Edgar, where he had many jobs over the year...
