Couples play 2-person scramble at Elk Creek Friday

 


Elk Creek Couples Summer Golf League met in Nelson Friday evening onanother perfect evening to golf. 

The format, in addition to the usual 2-person scramble, had the women doing all of the teeing off.  

  Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe had a low net score again, this week with a 29. Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle had a high gross score of 52  and also took an 8 on the par 4 no. 9 for the most over.  

Crystal Wyatt claimed the shortest putt on no. 2 at 33”.  Jan Rempe’s drive on no. 7 was the closest to the 150 yard marker and Dorrel Lipker’s second shot on no. 9 was the closest to the green but not on. 

After four weeks of competition, Jerry Bargen and Sally Uhrmacher are in first place with 8 points.

In a three way tie for second with 6 points are the teams of Rod and Sue Burge, Hunter Holland and Emily Wulf and Josh and Christina Harwell followed by Cody and Crystal Wyatt in fifth place with 5.5 points. 


       Sixth place with 5 points are Joe and Jenny Harwell.

       Seventh place with 4 points are John and Piper Hodge. 

       Earning 2 points this week, Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe moved up to eighth place.

      Richard and Verlene Watson are currently in ninth place with 2.5 points.

      Tying for tenth place with one point are Ken and Jan Rempe and Craig German and Cindy Hewitt followed by Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle.  

      Later everyone met at the club house for grilled burgers and sides.  

      Friday evening, in addition to the regular scramble, the men will be teeing off.
