Diane Wehrman receives Everyday Heroes award

The Everyday Heroes award from the Nebraska Judicial Branch was presented to Diane Wehrman. She was recognized for all she does for the courts and her community. Her nomination letter explains how Diane has impacted those all around her.

Diane Wehrman has worked in the State of Ne braska Judicial Branch for many years. She started as the deputy clerk of the Nuckolls County District Court and later the clerk of the Nuckolls County District Court upon the previous clerk's retirement. She then took over the Nuckolls County Court clerk magistrate position where she continues to work.

In addition to her duties as Nuckolls County clerk magistrate, she assists the clerk of the Nuckolls County District Court through a cooperative agreement. Nuckolls County Court has a high case load, and yet she still goes above and beyond her job duties, while providing the best customer service. Diane is also one of five information specialists, answering calls and chats from individuals with question. She routinely assists the Webster County clerk magistrate on court days in Webster County, additionally she assisted in training and continues to mentor the newly hired Thayer County clerk magistrate. Furthermore, even during the COVID pandemic, she would go out of her way to always plan for birthdays or special events for courthouse staff.

Diane Wehrman, Nuckolls County Clerk Magistrate, has been recognized as an Everyday Hero for all she does to help so many people and for being an exemplary employee of the Nebraska Judicial Branch. Phil, her husband, joins her in this picture.

Diane is a caring person and is highly involved in the community. She helps everyone who asks for help and donates, both time and financially, to many other charitable organizations. She teaches CCD at the local church, has helped the girls with dance team, and recently began mentoring a student who lost her mother at an early age. Diane is an active member of the Nelson American Legion Auxiliary, she routinely donates blood to the American Red Cross having donated more than five gallons, and she raises money as an advocate for finding a cure for Alzheimer Disease. Diane is a member of the local PEO chapter, the Altar Society for Sacred Heart in Nelson, assists with County Government Day, organizes and runs Nuckolls County Law Day and a special event for the Accelerated Learning Program for the local school district.

Even with all the extra work, Diane is a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Diane is an example of an Everyday Hero. Recognizing her as such would be a great way to recognize Diane for all that she does to help so many people and for being an exemplary employee of the Nebraska Judicial Branch.
