Kay Eakins

Phillipsburg resident, Kay L. Eakins, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 1, at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg.

She was born May 19, 1948, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Victor and Margaret Mae (Brown) Chandler.

She was a kitchen aide at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg.

Kay was united in marriage to Robert L. Eakins on June 12, 1965, in Concordia, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and brother, Ron Chandler.

Survivors include her son, Sam Eakins and wife, Brenda, of Burr Oak; brother, Ken Chandler and Marta of Mankato; sister, Dee Engling and husband, Mike, of Phillipsburg; four grandchildren: Amber, Lainee, Cordell and Noah; two great-grandchildren: Keegan and Kason; nieces, nephews, great nieces-and great nephews.

Cremation was planned. A private inurnment will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia.
