Love my Crazy Life

August 19, 2021

The pool is closed for the season. The last days are always bitter-sweet. On the one hand, I’m glad it’s over. It can be a frustrating job. On the other, I am going to miss my guards and my pool rats. Some are off to college, and I will only see them here and there over the next few years. It’s fun to watch them grow. I love watching the kids learn to swim. At the beginning of the year, a few wouldn’t leave the three-foot area and, by the end of the season, they were going off the diving board.

Sunday, I went grocery shopping. I didn’t want to, but it was either that or starve for the next week. As soon as I got to the store, I was regretting the need to eat. Sam’s Club was a zoo, and Walmart was a circus. I’m a people person, but that’s pushing it! They need traffic lights in those stores, not that anyone would pay any attention to them.

Folks keep asking how the money pit is going. Well, it’s a work in progress and might be for several years even after we move in. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but I can’t see it. George is still hopeful that we will be moved in by the end of the year. I’m beginning to think maybe he is the dreamer in the relationship. LOL!

In my younger years, I prayed for patience and strength, not knowing God would give me those values through everyday life lessons. Life has been so much easier since I stopped praying for patience. LOL! These days I pray for the safety of my children and that I don’t have a heart attack while attempting to renovate my dream house. Is it crazy that I’m thinking of getting another once the two we have are finished? I’m sure it is, but what would I do with myself without a money pit? Relax, enjoy life, have more cash for my online shopping addiction? Who knows what the future will bring. X’s & O’s.
