Operation We Care delivers goods to deployed troops

Ross Koehler, son of Deb and Randy Koehler, Nelson, serves in the space force and deployed with an army unit. In recent conversations with her son, Deb felt a need to do something more for our deployed military. She reached out to her church and "Operation We Care" was created. The church has begun collecting donations to send care packages to our deployed military.

Through several conversations with her son, Ross, Deb Koehler learned many of our deployed troops need our help. Koehler is currently enlisted in the United States Space Force and deployed with an army unit. Ross calls home regularly and has recently expressed to his mother many of our troops feel homesick.

Deb took this seriously. She spoke with her church family in Nelson. The members and board of the United Church of Christ decided to reach out to those deployed via "Operation We Care!" With Ross's help, Deb and other church members came up with a list of items that can be put into car...
