Shirley Kuhlmann

Shirley June Kuhlmann of Chester, the daughter of Adolph and Lenora (Ahrens) Gehle was born on a farm near Chester, June 17, 1943. She

died Tuesday, Aug. 10, at her home in Chester.

She attended a one room country school through the eighth grade and then went to Chester High School and later received her GED.

Shirley married Karis Kuhlmann Sept. 12, 1959. This union was blessed with the birth of three children.

Shirley was helpmate on the farm caring for the livestock, helping where ever needed, cooking and taking care of the children.

She also worked as a cafe cook, Chester senior center and the Belleville hospital.

Her church was her rock. She taught Bible school at Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Deshler. She enjoyed making new friends, sewing and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lillias Davenport

and Larriet Davenport; and one brother Delain Gehle.

She is survived by her husband, Karis of Chester; sons, Scot Kuhlmann and Rob Kuhlmann of Chester; and daughter Mrs. Charles Dinkel (Michele) of Chester; and grandchildren and great-grand children.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.,Friday at Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Deshler. Officiant will be Pastor Ken Hart.

Kroll Funeral Home of Deshler, is in charge of arrangements.
