Christina Jeffery (above) bowed to the audience after winning the Diablo wing eating contest held in downtown Mankato Saturday night. In the inset picture at the right, she was taking a short break before returning to eating the wings.

Before the wing eating contest ,the contestants were auctioned off to members of the audience. Proceeds of the auction went into a pool with half going to the splash pad benefit fund and the balance going to the bidder who picked the winner. When bidding ended, there was $1,000 in the "pot." The bidder who picked Jeffery as the winner donated the winnings to the splash pad fund.

After the wing eating contest, Pete Gile played music and sang.
