The renovation of the Superior Auditorium continues moving forward with the support of the community and Superior High School alumni. As of late August 55 donors have designated funds totaling more than $39,000 toward the payment of the newly installed heating and cooling system, and contributions are still coming in.

The infusion of cash was in response to a $30,000 challenge grant received by the auditorium committee. The generosity of donors will allow the group to claim that grant. Additional donations are welcome and may be sent to The Auditorium P.O. Box 96, Superior, Nebraska 68978.

Attention now is being directed to projects on the horizon and research and bid requests are in progress for next year’s work.

In the near term the building continues to be a busy place with dance classes during the week, special events on weekends and future dates being reserved as far out as 2023. To reserve dates, contact Beverly Beavers, Steve Fox or Sonia Schmidt.

This Saturday, the committee has invited the community to attend a local variety show and meal. Brodstone Memorial Hospital will be grilling burgers for the meal which will include chips, water and a cookie. The meal will be available beginning at 6:30. Homegrown talent takes the stage at 7:30 with a variety of ages and skills included.

The organizers have extended an invitation to everyone to come out and enjoy an evening of entertainment! Both the meal and the show are available for a free will donation!
