Margaret Ann (May) Ketterer, 88, was born Dec. 24, 1932, on the family farm in Jewell County, Kan., the daughter of Floyd May and Mary (Sweet) May. She died at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas on Sept. 19.

Margaret grew up on the farm, attended rural schools, and graduated from Montrose High School in 1950. She married Alfred Shaffer on Oct. 15, 1954; he died in February 1988. To this union one daughter was born, Alfreda Marie.

She married Daniel "Pat" Ketterer on Feb. 9, 1990; he survives of the home. Margaret's life revolved around family and trucking. She was a short-order cook at C...
