Charles H. Jacobson, 96, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Good Samaritan Society's Superior home. He was born in Formoso, Kan., to Henry Elza and Harrietta Grace (Kinsey) Jacobson.

He graduated from Montrose High School. He married Virginia M. Walker on March 16, 1983. She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 1994.

He was a lifelong farmer. He was affectionately known as "The Mayor of Montrose" and was a member of the United Methodist Church. He served on the soil conservation board and local cemetery board.
