Love my crazy life

October 7, 2021

Well, Jacob is on the injured list again, not sure how severe. I’m going to have to start selling organs to be able to pay to fix his limbs!

We are working away at the money pit. I’m starting to feel like that is going to be my story for the foreseeable future. I’ve started to patch and repair plaster. It’s not hard work, just tedious, and there is so much plaster to repair. The texturizing will be the hard part. George is getting ready to install the new furnace. He was working on the electrical, but we ran out of wire and light fixtures. Since our ‘tunnel rat’ is out of commission for a bit, it’s probably not a bad thing to be taking a break from that.

I broke down the other day. I miss Robert, and we’ve been talking to Jacob’s recruiters quite a bit. It’s all becoming so real. I will have an empty nest soon. Jacob said he plans to stay home a year before going in, but we all know how that goes. He won’t want to wait that long. No kid ever does. My hubby’s ex-wife asked how I felt about him joining the military. Like, I’m supposed to through a fit or tell him he can’t! Honestly, I’m proud of my kids! I think they are making good choices for their future. Ya, it’s a little scary thinking about what they could be doing, but they will be taken care of. They don’t have to worry about how the bills will get paid or where their next meal will be coming from. If I wasn’t so old, I’d join!

Speaking of Robert, he got a little “promotion.” He was recruited for another unit and is super happy about it. I can’t tell you how happy that makes me. That’s about all I can say on that matter, and I’d get in trouble if I went into detail. Jackson, George’s oldest, recently became a licensed driver! So, keep off the sidewalks in Omaha! LOL! He also got a job at a Dairy Queen, so maybe stay away from those too! Ha!Ha! I am so happy for him! All he has talked about for the longest time was getting his license so he could get a job! Maybe he can loan me some cash, so I don’t have to sell my brain to science!

Well, I guess I best quit typing and get ready to head to Lincoln to see how serious Jacob’s injury is. X’s & O’s!
