SHS football tops Fillmore Central

The Superior High School football team tamed the Fillmore Central Panthers 27-7 at Superior's Brodstone Memorial Field Friday.

The win lifted the Wildcats to a 4-2 record for the season.

Both the offense and defense were consistent when it mattered. Superior jumped out to a 13-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. They expanded the lead to 20-0 when the half time intermission arrived.

Fans at the game were entertainment by the Superior High School drill team and then the Superior High School marching band during the half time break.

Both teams failed to score in the third quarter. Fillmore Central put seven points on the board in the fourth quarter. It was to no avail as Superior matched the seven points and departed the field with a 27-7 win.

Dane Miller completed four of his 13 passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns.

Jacob Meyer turned his two receptions into touchdowns. He picked up 57 yards. Aaron Allgood reeled in one pass for six yards. Clayton Morris attached himself to a reception for five yards.


Miller carried the ball 17 times for 10-4 yards and two touchdowns. Morris took the ball 11 times for 34 yards. Aiden Humphries took the ball six occasions gaining 35 yards. Tyler Everhart gained 16 yards with his three carries.

Christian Avalos kicked three point after touchdowns.

Jordan Brown accumulated nine solo tackles and four assisted tackles for the Wildcats. Ty Boller picked up eight solo tackles and an assist. Meyer contributed five solo tackles and had 2 assisted tackles. Seth Schnakenberg put up four solo tackles and an assist. Morris added three solo tackles and nine assistsed tackles. Luke Jameson accounted for three solo tackles. Humphries landed two solo tackles and three assists. Everhart nailed two solo tackles and an assisted tackle. Allgood took care of a solo tackle and an assists. Payton Christiancy, Miller and Anders Webber accounted for a solo tackle each. Henry Griljava and Hayden Neeman added an assisted tackle apiece.
