SHS cross country team at conference, heads to district

Laci Kirchhoff (181) is on her way to a ninth place finish for Superior at the Southern Nebraska Conference cross country meet at Hebron, Thursday.

The Superior High School cross country members competed at the Southern Nebraska Conference meet run hosted by Thayer Central High School at Hebron Thursday.

Bri Stricklin (182) competed for Superior at the Southern Nebraska Conference cross country meet at Hebron, Thursday.

Laci Kirchhoff finished in ninth place in the girls 5K run with her time of 23:07.96. Brianna Stricklin finished in 21st place with the time of 26:28.21. There were 31 runners entered in the race.

Hunter Mazzulla led the boys team with a 17th place finish and a time of 19:09.28. Brett Miller was in 25th place with his time of 19:43.68. Gavin Ekstein picked up 38th place with his time of 21:32.21. Luka Benjamin held down 45th place with his time of 23:01.6.

The team finished in eighth place in the nine team field.

A trip to the state meet is at stake when team members compete at the District D-4 meet at Franklin today (Thursday). Teams and individual runners are looking for places at the state meet being run over the Kearney Country Club course, at Kearney, Friday, Oct 22.
