Seth Schnakenberg (70) waits to take down a Doniphan-Trumbull ball carrier Friday at Superior. Schnakenberg recorded three sacks during the Superior 29-7 loss.

It was a tale of two halves not making a whole for the Superior High School football team Friday. The Wildcats and the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals were evenly matched on the field throughout the first two quarters of play. Each team scored a touch down in the second quarter to leave the field tied at seven at the half.

Then the wheels came off for Superior. The offensive line turned porous. The defense followed its example. The result was 22 unanswered Cardinal points in the third quarter leaving Superior facing a 29-7 deficit at the start of the fourth and final quarter. The Wildcats were handed ample opportunities to close the gap. They were unable to capitalize and left the game with a 4-4 record for the season.

Dane Miller completed two of his 13 pass attempts for 26 yards.

Aiden Humphries pulled in one pass for 22 yards. Aaron Allgood had one reception to pick up four yards.

Miller kept the ball 21 times to gain four yards. He scored the lone Wildcat touchdown with a run. Tyler Everhart covered 30 yards with his five carries. Jordan Brown gained 18 yards with his eight carries.

Christian Avalos kicked the point after touchdown. He averaged 60 yards with his two kickoffs.

Dane Miller (11) attempts to avoid the Doniphan-Trumbull defenders headed his way. Superior lost to Doniphan-Trumbull 29-7 at Superior Friday.

Allgood and Ty Boller accounted for four solo and four assisted tackles each. Brown contributed four solo tackles and two assists. Payton Christiancy landed three solo tackles and had three assisted tackles. Seth Schnakenberg nabbed two solo tackles and added five assisted tackles. He was responsible for three sacks and he recovered a Doniphan-Trumbull fumble. Luke Jameson nailed two solo tackles and had an assisted tackle. Everhart registered a solo tackle and seven assists.
