The Jewell County commissioners met Oct. 11. Commissioners Brent Beck, Steve Greene and Keith Roe were present. Carla J. Waugh, county clerk was present for the meeting.

Shannon Meier, ambulance director, reviewed the billing and activity reports for September. He requested an executive session to discuss confidential data relating to financial affairs. Regular session resumed with the commissioners approving to write off $1,297.35 for the 3rd Quarter 2021 for EMS.

Brent Beck said he met with Sara Grout, Mankato Library Board and Jamie Blackstone, B-Green Lawn Care, for the placement of the post in the Courthouse yard to be used for the Library’s Story Book Walk.

The commissioners went into executive session for 10 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel with Cindy Becker present. Regular session resumed with no action taken.

The commissioners appointed Sara Fuller as Holmwood Township Clerk. Brenda Eakins, treasurer, said the county treasurer’s office is closed to walk-ins the week of Oct. 11 through 15 because of a COVID-19 exposure. They were able to assist taxpayers through mail and using the drop box.

Joel Elkins had quotes for tubes. Welborn Sales quote of $89,854.49 for tubes was approved.

Carla Waugh reviewed the KCAMP questionnaire renewal and schedules with the commissioners. She also discussed PIC Benefit. The commissioners said they were not interested.
