Judge Johnson plans retirement

Vicky Johnson, a first district judge who has presided at times over court proceedings in Nuckolls County has announced plans to retire. One of her memorable times in Nuckolls County included the day she found a courthouse bat hiding in her judicial robe.
She currently serves Thayer, Filmore, Jefferson, Gage, Saline, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties. She took a seat on the district court bench in 2004.
State law tasks the governor with naming a replacement.
