Lucille Jeannene Richardson, the daughter of Ray and Etta (Huston) Blackburn, was born on Jan. 25, 1929 in Ragan, Neb., in Harlan County. She died (Oct. 29), at the Good Samaritan Society Perkins - Hastings Village at Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 9 months, 4 days.

Lucy attended Ragan High School and Kearney State College graduating with a bachelor's degree in teaching. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the American Legion and Eagles Auxiliary, Superior Country Club Ladies and Nebraska Educators Association and the Nebraska State Education Association. She retired from her last teaching job at the Nora School District with a career of more than 40 years. She was a long-time member of the Superior Presbyterian Church in Superior. Lucy liked to travel, have coffee with her friends at the Velvet Rose, enjoyed league bowling, birdwatching, Red Hats, attending her children's and grandchildren's school activities. Most of all she lived life and loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clint; sister Margie and husband, Stanley Lippstreu; and brother, Bill Blackburn and wife, Barbara.

Survivors include her son, James, and wife, Marsha, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., and daughter, Susan Bradley, and husband, Damon, of Naponee, Neb .; four grandchildren: Erin Johnson, Sara McPherson and significant other ,Chris, Rachel Guiai and husband, Privat, and Rebecca McPherson and significant other, Patrick. Four great-grandchildren: Haleigh, Tristan, Chauncy and Jade .; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Her funeral was held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 3, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Natalie Faust officiating.

Music was congregational hymns "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace" with Carlita Price as organist and recordings of "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "You Raise Me Up."

Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until services on Nov. 3.

Pallbearers were Robert Lippstreu, Guiai Privat, Chris Marcotte, Tom Blackburn and Raile Blackburn.

Everyone was encouraged to wear the color Red to Lucy's services.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go in care of the family.
