Geneva Boston

November 11, 2021

The world lost an angel today, Nov. 5, 2021. Geneva (Vickers) Boston, Dayton, Ohio, lived in Mankato for several years before moving to Dayton.

She was born to John and Grace Vickers on May 21, 1928. She was the oldest daughter of 10 children.

Geneva met and married Frank G. Boston on Dec. 27, 1947. To this union, three children were born: Frank J. Boston (deceased), Teresa (Dave ) Haines, Susan C. Boston (deceased). Geneva was devoted to her children and had extra love to give to others who came into her family, especially her niece Dyanne (Mike) Castelli.

Geneva was a great cook and always had home cooked meals for her family or anyone who stopped by. She had style, grace, love and was generous. She was a beautiful soul and was loved by everyone who met her. She never met a stranger. Within five minutes, she would learn the life story of a neighbor, nurse, telemarketer, grocery clerk and anyone she came in contact with. She was interested and cared about anyone she met. She was ready to give but was embarrassed to receive. Geneva touched many people's lives, what a beautiful lady, sister, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy and Ima Jean; brothers, Paul and Joseph; and granddaughter, Amanda.

She is survived by daughter, Terry (Dave) Haines, Dayton, Ohio; sisters: Vikki (Paul) of Fla .; Betty, Mankato; and Joann (Kenny) Rhea, Mankato; brothers: Charlie, Colorado; and Danny (Ana) Mankato; grandchildren: Kristie (Brian); Hilary (BJ); Terra (Micha); and Christopher (Amy); step-granddaughter, Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Vincent, Victor, Isaac and Asher; nieces: Dyanne, Pam, Tonya Irene, Kathy, and Tonya Ann; nephews: Greg, Vic, Mark and Chad; and many great nephews and nieces, and we can't forget her grand dog "Toots" who always received treats from her.

Geneva did not like being the center of attention and asked that no service be held for her. Her family and friends will remember her with small celebrations of life and trees will be planted in several states in her memory.

Donations can be made in her memory to Hospice of Dayton or Shiner's Hospital for Children.
