Survey underway in Jewell County

December 2, 2021

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) began a field survey on Monday to gather information that is necessary for the detailed design of the proposed bridge replacement on K-14 over the Buffalo Creek. The location being surveyed is located approximately 1.25 miles north of the K-14-K-28 junction. The survey will take place on the existing highway alignment.

KDOT expects the survey to be completed by Dec. 23. Activities include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the corridor.

A member of the survey crew will contact property owners or tenants for permission to enter private property.

Kara LaRiviere, survey project manager, will be in charge of this survey for KDOT.
