December 9, 2021

The Jewell County Cinema Board met on Nov. 28. The meeting was held by ZOOM and in person. Thad Hinkle, Lisa Goodheart (ZOOM), Sarah Ortman, Phyllis Christie, Janis McDill, Chris Klos and Virgil Jones were present.

The October meeting minutes were approved as presented.

In old business, the Sonic repair bill has been paid. Hinkle did have to call them about a lamp situation and they talked him through repairing it himself. It was reported “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” movie did not do well.

In new business, discussion was held on upcoming movies. It was decided the movie will be shown at 3 p.m., Dec. 24., at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 25, and 3 p.m., Dec. 26. The movie on Dec. 31 will be at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 1 will be at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 2 will be at 3 p.m. (regular schedule).

Sarah Ortman said the elementary school children will attend “Elliott, the Littlest Reindeer” on Dec. 17. There will be two showings and no concessions will be required.

It was reported there is a low hum in the sound system, so Thad Hinkle will be calling Sonic again.

John Tyler said theater trash has been thrown on the ground behind John’s building. There is no reason for this, as the trash is to be left inside the theater by the back door to be picked up. John offered the theater the use of his dumpster.

The next meeting will be on Dec. 27.
