L-N boys basketball wins first two games

The Lawrence-Nelson High School boys basketball team kicked off the season with two consecutive wins.

The Raiders downed Red Cloud, 54-49, at Nelson, Friday. They put away the Thayer Central Titans, 49-45, at Nelson, Saturday.

Logan Menke led the Raiders offense against Red Cloud with 17 points. Clay Williams was credited with 13 points. Krayton Kucera dropped in 12 points. Connor Janda scored four points. Nolan Ostdiek hit for three points. Tyson Kotinek and Erik Wheeland were good for two points each. Devyn Zikmund added one point. Ostdiek grabbed nine rebounds. Kotinek and Menke landed eight rebounds apiece. Kucera held on to six rebounds. Janda, Kotinek and Wheeland were good for three rebounds each. Ostdiek and Zikmund had two rebounds each. Menke lobbed through 16 points against Thayer Central. Bayln Bargen came through with seven points. Ostdiek and Clay Williams scored six points each. Kotinek and Keaton Mazour netted three points each. Janda had two points. Menke snagged eight rebounds. Ostdiek hauled down four rebounds. Janda and Williams collected three rebounds apiece. Mazour, Wheeland and Zikmund gathered in two rebounds each. Wyatt Brockman and Kotinek grabbed two rebounds each The Raiders travel to Franklin Friday. They host Bruning-Davenport-Shickley at Nelson Saturday.
