Twila Mary (Imler) Rothchild, age 90, of Mankato, died Sunday, Dec.19, at the Jewell County Hospital. She was born on March 12, 1931, at the family farm home northeast of Lovewell, near Round Mound in Jewell County to William A. and Nora (Osborne) Imler.

Her elementary education was the in rural schools of White Rock and Sweet Hill. She graduated from Montrose Rural High School in 1949.

Twila Imler was united in marriage to Dale E. Rothchild at the Reverend J.A. Stansbury home at North Branch, Kan. Rev. Stansbury was Dale’s great uncle and had married Dale’s parents. The couple’s parents were present at the ceremony. This marriage began on a farm near Webber. This union was blessed with three children: Michael Dale, Ronald Keith and Mary Elizabeth.

Twila was a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church. When it closed, she moved her membership to the Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato. She was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed helping with the church work as long as her health permitted. She also enjoyed gardening and working with flowers in the yard.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Martha Dittman), Woodbine, Kan. and Ronald(Anna), Beloit; daughter, Mary Rothchild, Mankato; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; two sisters, Wilma Imler and Frances Butler; and two brothers, Glen and Paul Imler.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., today (Thursday), Dec. 23, at Harmony United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jim Rice officiating. Burial will follow at the Webber Cemetery, Webber. Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Melby Mortuary, Mankato.
