 The Superior High School girls basketball team downed the Cross County Cougars, 51-35, last Tuesday, at Superior, in the opening round game of the Runza Holiday Tournament. The team continued its winning ways when they edged The Milford Eagles 48-45 at Milford. They played their final tournament game Tuesday with results unavailable at press time.

Superior never faced a major threat from Cross County as they pulled out to a 19-12 halftime lead. The Cougars attempts to close the gap were futile and Superior entered the holiday moratorium with a 51-35 win.

Superior showed their grit when they overcame a 32-20 deficit at the half. They roared back with an offensive and defensive onslaught. They scored 28 points over the third and fourth quarters while holding the Eagles to 13 points for their seventh win of the season.

Shayla Meyer dumped through 23 points to lead Superior against Cross County. Ella Garner contributed 10 points. Sadie Cornell hit for eight points. Laci Kirchhoff added four points. Halle Bargen, Teegan Duncan and Lilly Edwards scored two points apiece. Meyer collected seven rebounds. Gardner latched onto five rebounds. Butler, cornell and Kirchhoff accounted for three rebounds each. Duncan took care of two rebounds.

Statistics were unavailable at press time for the Milford game.
