The Nuckolls County Human Interagency Services’ Giving Tree was successful again this year. Superior Pharmacy, Dollar General, Brodstone Memorial Hospital, Nelson Post Office, Farmers & Merchants Bank in Lawrence displayed tags and collected the returned gifts.

Bob Trapp and staff at Ace Hardware collected Toys for Tots. This year about double the amount of last year’s donations was collected! Several people helped wrap the food boxes and gifts. The Senior Leadership Team at Brodstone Memorial Hospital helped fill the boxes with food, organized gifts and the distribution of food boxes and gifts.

Sylvia Crilly organized and collected donations for Coats for Kids program. This year the Coats for Kids program purchased 34 new coats for children ages 0 to 18 in Nuckolls County.

Words cannot express the gratitude for those who took a tag and filled it, gave donations of toys, gifts, hats, gloves and money to the Giving Tree, Toys for Tots and Coats for Kids. The amount of generosity shown throughout our county to provide nearly 100 families across Nuckolls County with Christmas gifts and food this holiday season through the Giving Tree project is greatly appreciated.

The “Giving Tree” recipients express much gratitude, appreciation and thanks for helping to make their Christmas season a joyous time with gifts and food they otherwise would not have been able to provide for their families.

Financial donations for the Giving Tree are accepted all year and can be sent to the Giving Tree, PO Box 271, Superior, Neb. The Giving Tree will also be in need of wrapping paper next year. Donations of wrapping paper can be given to Peggy Meyer, Superior.
