Love my crazy life

Well, it’s been another mess of a week. Nicholas, the youngest of our two Omaha boys, was here this weekend. We finished his room just in the nick of time. George and Jacob brought his bed in and set it up just an hour before I arrived home with him. We had a good visit, and my sister-in-law and youngest nephew were down Saturday, and the two boys got along well.

In the past, our relationship with Nickolas has been difficult. He went through a phase where he didn’t want to come to visit, and there were a few visits where he flat out refused to come. Now he looks forward to visits and even calls and texts George and me between visits. Jackson, the oldest of the two, has a job and a “life,” so we agreed he didn’t have to come every month. Blending families is difficult and confusing sometimes, and that’s all I’m going say about that!

Mom is up on her feet and doing well. Dot, her service dog, is also doing better and doesn’t have to wear that silly cone as much now. In a week or two, the pair should be back to their normal galavanting. Unfortunately, my friend’s husband is still in the hospital, and she is just beside herself with worry. I can’t even imagine what she must be feeling. Please continue to pray for his recovery.

Things with the Money Pit are coming along. It’s living up to its name, that’s for sure. When we think all the expensive parts are done, we realize they are not. LOL! I’m back to robbing Peter to pay Paul on a few things and am none too happy about that. I just keep telling myself that “this too shall pass,” and soon, things will be back to normal, whatever that is.

A two-story house was maybe not the best idea for me. I’m forgetful, so I spend a lot of time walking up and down the stairs. My office is upstairs, and the coffee pot is downstairs. Just this morning, I went out for a smoke, left my coffee on the kitchen counter, and made it to my desk before realizing it. As I went to retrieve my coffee, I thought I better use the “little girls’ room.” I then made it back upstairs without my coffee. UGH! At least I”m getting my exercise. X’s & O’s.
