Emmett Ross Bondegard, 92, was born Nov. 5, 1929, to Charles Floyd andTheadora Mary (Andrews) Bondegard at Phillips, Neb. He died Jan. 20, 2022, at Deshler.

Emmett grew up in the Phillips and Aurora areas and attended school at Aurora, walking to school from the farm north of town until moving into town. He spent summers on a farm north of Lodgepole, Neb., helping his grandfather Charles. He often talked about needing to wear tall boots in the rolling hills because of rattlesnakes.
