February 10, 2022

The Nuckolls County Board of commissioners met at the county courthouse in Nelson Monday. All three commissioners were present. The previously scheduled meeting for Jan. 17 was cancelled because of a lack of a quorum.

Routine business was the order of the day. Jeff Wagner, county highway superintendent, updated conditions at the department.

Vicki Ensign, county treasurer, presented her six-month report to the board. The board approved pledged securities submitted by Ensign and Royce Gonzales, clerk of the district court.

The board approved special designated liquor licenses for Superior Estates Winery.

The board adjourned and met as the board of equalization. The board approved several requests for motor vehicle tax exemptions from area non-profit and religious organizations.

Because of the Presidents Day holiday, Monday, Feb. 21, the courthouse will be closed. The board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 18 at 8:30 a.m.
