The Superior High School football team will join the 8-man football ranks when the 2022 season opens. The Nebraska School Activities Association released the list of opponents Superior will face during the upcoming season. The Wildcats have been playing 11-man football for the past two seasons. Low team member numbers prompted the return to 8-man play.

Superior opens the season at home against intra-county rival Lawrence-Nelson. The Wildcats travel to Bruning for a game with Bruning-Davenport-Shickley in week two. The Kenesaw Blue Devils visit Superior in week three.

Week four is a bye week.

Superior will travel to Sandy Creek for a week five game. The Heartland Huskies come to Superior for a week six game.

Superior plays McCool Junction at McCool Junction for the week seven game.

The final game of the season in week eight is against Sutton at Superior.

Superior is playing in District D1-8.
