No additional information has been made available to the press this week with regard to two recent law enforcement incidents in Jewell County.

The county sheriff’s office has been investigating multiple assault and battery incidents associated with the “adult prom” held on Feb. 12.

The event held at the Mankato Community Center was to raise funds to assist with the high school prom planned for later this year.

In a social media post asking for information that could help with the investigation the department stated, “We are committed to investigating each incident and bringing those that caused these crimes to justice.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has not publicly reported the results of its investigation into the death of a Jewell County deputy sheriff. The deputy apparently died inside his Mankato home on Feb. 7.

When officers responded to calls from different subjects within the house at 507 E. Monroe, the found Colton Koch, 27, had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
