RHHS girls basketball wins fourth straight game

The Rock Hills High School girls basketball team extended their winning streak to four consecutive games when they downed Thunder Ridge 44-31 at Mankato Friday. They handed Southern Cloud a 41-19 loss at Mankato last Tuesday. The Grizzlies closed out the regular season portion of their schedule against Osborne, at Mankato, Tuesday. Game results were unavailable at press time.

Danica Frost led the Rock Hills scoring with 17 points against Southern Cloud. Avery Brown dropped through 10 points. Selena Luong was good for six points. Caitlynn Scarrow and Lauren Whelchel scored four points apiece. Brown elbowed her way to eight rebounds. Frost landed seven rebounds. Whelchel nailed down five rebounds. Luong grabbed four rebounds. Scarrow made off with three rebounds. Raylynn Anderes and Hannah Simmelink nabbed one rebound apiece.

Whelchel pored through 19 points to lead the Grizzlies against Thunder Ridge. Anderes and Frost kicked in seven points apiece. Brown put up five points. Simmelink took credit for four points. Luong scored two points. Whelchel took care of 10 rebounds. Brown and Luong pulled away seven rebounds apiece. Frost landed six rebounds. Anderes collected four rebounds. Luong and Scarrow accounted for two rebounds each.

The Grizzlies have a first round bye in the 1A-D1 sub-state tournament Friday.
