The Bruning-Davenport- Shickley girls basketball team is returning to the state Class D-1 championship tournament for the fifth consecutive year.

It was the clash of Eagles as B-D-S downed the Elgin Public-Pope John Eagles, 63-57, in overtime, at Shelby-Rising City High School, Shelby, Friday. B-D-S rallied from a 24 point deficit late in the third quarter to force overtime. The Eagles were not to be denied as they maintained their momentum to leave the court with the win and a ticket to the state tournament.
