RHHS girls basketball team in sub-state

The Rock Hills girls basketball team finished the regular season section of their schedule with a 56-40 loss to Osborne at Mankato last Tuesday. The Grizzlies compiled a 12-9 record in regular season play.
Rock Hills was never in contention against Osborne. They had lost to Osborne 62-30 in their first meeting of the season at the Northern Plains League Tournament. The Grizzlies trailed 40-21 at the half and were unable to close the gap as Osborne pulled away..
Lauren Whelchel tallied 18 points to lead the Grizzlies. Danica Frost pumped through 10 points. Selena Luong accounted for five points. Caitlynn Scarrow finished the game with four points. Avery Brown netted two points. Whelchel and Brown hit the boards for six rebounds apiece. Luong and Scarrow provided five rebounds each. Raylynn Anderes grabbed four rebounds. Frost nabbed two rebounds.
The Grizzlies received a first round bye in the 1A-D1 sub-state bracket. They will play Washington County Friday, March 4, at Clifton-Clyde High School, Clyde.
