RHHS girls basketball

March 10, 2022

For the first time in more than 12 years, the Rock Hills High School girls basketball team played a meaningful post season game Friday.

The Grizzlies, because of their wining record over the course of the season, received a bye into the semi-final round of the sub-state 1A-D1 game. A win and they would be off to the state tournament while a loss eliminated them from state tournament contention.

Rock Hills took on the Washington County Tigers at Clifton-Clyde High School, Clyde, Friday. Try as they might, the Grizzlies could not close the gap and were eliminated from post-season competition with a 33-26 loss.

It was a bitter sweet farewell for Avery Brown and Caitlyn Scarrow as the seniors finished their playing career. The rest of the team returns next year. Jamie Harvey, head coach, is looking forward to more success in the future as the team learned how to win this season. They finished with a 12-10 record, their best season outing in years.
