Folks . . . I’m going to stop praying for Mr. Biden to do great, grand and glorious things he could do as president of the U. S.

I’m going to start praying that he does the ‘little things’ correctly.

My change in attitude came this week in reading a story from the Bible. Seems a great warrior leader of an area near Israel had a sickness. His king sent him to Israel’s king and asked that the God of Israel cure this warrior leader.

The warrior was sent to a prophet and the prophet told him to go wash in the dirty river, Jordan, seven times and he would be cured.

The warrior was insulted. He was expecting to be asked to do some ‘great’ deed to be cured, not a simple bath in the river . . . seven times even.

Well, his servants convinced him to do it and he was cured. The simple instructions were the correct ones.

Now . . . what has this to do with Mr. Biden ? ? ? I would like to point out several points:

• The U. S. budget: The new $1.5 trillion spending bill for the federal government that just recently passed Congress has certainly not gotten a lot of publicity. Considering the war in the Ukraine that grabs most of the attention in the news, that is understandable.

I admit I didn’t follow this spending process very closely and I understand there was quite a fight to eliminate the “Hyde Amendment.” This amendment prohibits federal funding of taxpayers’ dollars, from going toward abortion.

What did our great leader do?

More than $286 million were designated for “family planning.” Our old nemesis, ‘Planned Parenthood’ was mentioned as one unit that might receive much of this money. They claim they will not use the money for abortion related expenses, they will use the money to pay for utilities, salaries and other services.

What a scam . . . the money they might have used to pay for these things will now be available to help pay for abortions.

Mr. Biden, it would not be a grand and glorious thing, but would you please stop paying for abortions. It would be a simple act that would help so many.

• “The wrong side of history” . . . I have heard so many of your employees talk about being on the wrong side of history. Really ? ? ?

Can’t we just talk about doing what is ‘right’ and let history take care of itself? That sounds simple enough.

• ‘Ukraine’ . . . I’m really going to stop praying for you to do some grand and glorious that would stop this war. I suspect that would be impossible. However, I think a simple little thing you could do would be to act as a world leader you are supposed to be. We seems we were on the wrong side of history when Mr. Carter was president and Mr. Obama was president. These Liberals were dominated by Iran when Carter was president and Russia when Obama was president. It seems a simple thing to maintain a strong defense for America. Speak for the American people by “saying what you mean . . . and mean what you say.”

• One of the simplest actions you could do is to just recognize that there are only two kinds of human beings on this earth: “male and female.” All of the talk and actions to the contrary only makes the matter worse, for everyone, especially those people with the problem of understanding where they fit into society. It’s not all that complicated.

• Don’t worry about which side of history you are on. Just doing the “right” thing will guarantee you ending up on the right side. Most all times, it is a simple thing to do . . . you may make enemies, but God’s plan is simple and enemies will not stop it.

March Madness . . . you know, all those basketball tournaments being played right now . . . in March.

Did you notice that the Nebraska Men’s Basketball Team is not playing in their tournament?

I thought Nebraska had a really good ending to the season, however. They won some big games and throughout the season they played well in many games, but just did not play well enough to win.

I bring this up because I read a newspaper article last week that said there are 13 basketball players “from Nebraska” that are playing in the NCAA tournaments for some other school.

Could Nebraska not entice some of them to play for the ‘old home state?’

On occasions we receive phone calls asking to take part in a survey of some sort. A few we take part in, some we hang up on. For the most part they deal with national issues.

However, last week we received one that asked our opinion about the political issues in Arkansas.

Now, that surprised me and it was one of the calls we hung up on. That was a simple thing to do, and the right thing to do as well.
