17 from 3 parishes receive Sacrament of Confirmation

Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence was full last Saturday morning, March 26, as the Bishop of the Lincoln Diocese, The Most Reverend James D. Conley, visited the church to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation on 17 young men and women of the parishes of Sacred Heart and Our Lady of the Assumption in Deweese. There were no candidates from St. Stephen parish this year.

The officiant of the ceremony was Bishop Conley, the Master of Ceremonies was Father Christopher Eckrich. Pastor and concelebrant was Father Corey Harrison. Also at the ceremony were: Father Paul Frank of Red Cloud and Father Ferdinand Boehme of Superior.

Assisting with the services were: Servers: Carter Griffis, Dillon Laughlin, Hayden Mazour, Keaton Mazour, Ethan Shaw, Charlie Shaw, Joel Skalka and Connor Rempe; Lector was Jeremy Borer; Acolytes were Don Mazour and Brian Shaw. Music was directed by Linda Ostdiek and Susan Janda and the choir.


The parishes Altar Societies served a brunch at 9:30 for those present and the Bishop met with the Confirmandi at 10:30 preceding the ceremony.
