As this issue goes to press, this newspaper has been unable to confirm reports that an arrest has been made relative to the robbery of the Guaranty State Bank’s Burr Oak office which happened Feb. 9, 2021.

A rumor is circulating this week that the investigation has led to a local person or persons having been arrested and charged. However, Jewell County Sheriff Don Jacobs told a reporter for this newspaper “I have nothing to tell you.”
